Winnie the Pooh was never one of my favorite stories as a child so I just don't get it. Not hating on the donkey just trying to figure out if in one of the stories we find out his family burned in a hay fire or something.

Funny thing about Eeyore, you only saw him out of his den. He only came out to try and keep normal relationships with his friends, but everyone knew that he was detoxing from the night before. Heroin can make individuals emotionless, in between doses.

I vaguely remember something about him having trouble with his tail.

But what's the point in making him depressed? Are children supposed to learn some kind of lesson about self esteem?

I think it's good for kids to learn that everyone in life isn't happy 24/7.
