Anyone have anything paranormal happen to them or a family member?

I do not have any but my father in law did. He was in the navy. He said he was going from West Virginia down Florida with him and two other guys. They were towing another boat back to the navy yard for repairs. he said that he was around North Carolina and it was getting late. They tied up to a dock to rest. Off in the distance was an old abandon house. They each would take turn to be on watch. He said it was his turn and about 2AM in the morning he saw like an old lantern light move around the old house. He woke the others up to show them. One of the men was so scared that he almost fell in trying to get the ropes untied to leave. He said he has never seen anything like that again.

He also used to jog a lot. He said he was jogging at Kennesaw Mountain in Kennesaw, GA. It is where there was a large battle during the civil war. He was jogging on a trail early morning and you could see the mist from the early morning. He passed by one of the battlefields and all of a sudden he could hear canon fire and chains. He said that he never ran back to his car so fast in his life.

Are you sure he wasn't in North Baton Rouge? Or New Orleans?

My grandma used to spin yarns about a spectral locomotive that would rocket past the farm where she grew up.

I have two incidents...

I grew up in the house my parents now live in. Behind the house was - and still is - a large expanse of woods made up of old oaks. I guess I may have been 8 or so at the time. I always played in the woods, and on that particular day I took my bb gun to do whatever it is I was doing. Anyway, I was walking through the woods - mind you, it was an old oak forest so not much undergrowth at all - when I happen to look up and see someone sitting with their back against a tree, roughly 20 - 30 yards away, and his back was to me. I can remember it as if it were yesterday - he was wearing blue coveralls and a flannel shirt, and was holding a shotgun in his lap.

I stopped dead in my tracks and got scared. He never moved, never turned to look, nothing. I noticed that a sunbeam looked like it was shining through the trees on him. So, I start backing up slowly and as quietly as possible. I turn to go out and walk a few steps before turning back to look - and he was gone. Not a sound, nothing. No sunbeam, either...

I thought I was seeing things. So I went home and didn't say a word. It couldn't have been, right?

So, about 20 years or so later, I was looking through some old pictures with my Dad when we came across one of my Grandfather - wearing the EXACT same outfit as I had seen then. Dad went on to explain that his Dad used to squirrel hunt a lot in the woods behind the house. What did I see?

Will put up the other story later.

I was on the side of the road hitch hiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a storm. The night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm was so strong you could hardly see a few feet in front of me. Suddenly I saw a car slowly coming towards me and stopped. Desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, I got in the car and closed the door, just to realize there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn't on!

The car started moving slowly. I looked at the road and saw a curve approaching. Scared, I started to pray, begging for my life. Then, just before I hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel. I was, paralyzed with fear, I began to watch how the hand appeared every time I came to a curve. I saw the lights of a small bar down the road so, gathering strength, I jumped out of the car and ran to it.

Wet and out of breath, I rushed inside and asked for two shots of tequila. Then I started telling everybody about the horrible experience I went through. A silence enveloped everybody when they realized I was crying and... not drunk.

About 15 minutes later, two guys walked in. They were also wet and out of breath.

Looking around and seeing me sobbing at the bar, one said to the other, 'Look, there's the idiot who got in the car while we were pushing it.

Growing up we had a hunting camp in St. Francisville. On the property was a house that was built in the 1800's that a family shared for generations because there was a family cemetery about 100 yds into the woods behind the house. The house still stood but was in bad shape and half of it had collapsed. This house was across the dirt road from where our camp was. One night after a hunt my dad, brother and I were sleeping and I woke up to what sounded like a baby crying. I woke my brother and dad up and my dad brushed it off as an owl or bobcat, etc. My brother and I were still freaked out. So we were all laying in the bunk room awake now. The noise started again and increasingly got louder. I looked at my dad and said are you sure that's not a baby crying. I'll never forget the look on his face because now he was freaked out. We all got up and grabbed flashlights. Walked out on the porch and waited to hear it again. Sure enough it started again and it was coming from the run down house. My dad said that's a fricking baby crying and started walking towards the house. He had his pistol with him. I didn't want any part of that shite so I stayed on the porch. We could hear the crying while he was walking around and inside that house. After about 10 minutes of him searching he came walking back and said y'all pack yalls shite we're heading to the house He never saw anything but at one point when he was in the house he said the crying sounded like it was right in front of him and it felt like something was next to him. We got the frick outta there and let other people hunt there before we went back to see if they had any weird experience like that.

This happened about 15-16 years ago in New Orleans, somewhere in the Garden District I believe. It was night, but I can't recall what time it was. There was a cemetery down the street from where we were, and you could see that it was there (50-100 yards away). Looking at the cemetery, on the corner of the street, was an older woman pushing a much older style stroller toward the cemetery...something like this:

I turned away for a second and looked back and both the woman and stroller were GONE. It was very odd and creepy to see something like that, even today. A few minutes later I asked my friend about it, and he had definitely seen it too. It could have been real, but that was a really strange thing to see late at night, by a cemetery. It is definitely creeping me out today, telling the story again.

When I was little I used to believe I saw ghosts all the time. My mom was real concerned about it because the nightmares were pretty bad. Probably just night terrors or sleep paralysis. But she said I would talk to them during the day too like imaginary friends. One time I even imagined that I was talking to a dead psychiatrist who didnt even know that he was a ghost.

Let me tell you my experience with "ghost". I have two aunts who are as crazy as betsy bugs, but when I was a kid I really didn't know they were nuts. Every once in awhile one of them claimed to see a ghost.

One aunt somehow found out or was lied to, etc that she lived on what use to be an old native American burial ground, so she claimed she would hear things at night. As if people were freely walking around her house. One day, apparently she was in her kitchen, holding her son, who was a baby at the time.. And she looked down the hallway and saw an image of a little girl. She said she could just see her body, she was dressed as if she was from the early 1800s, but her face was blurry. Once she saw it, with her child in hand, she took off running out of the house. Note: this is just one story from her.

The other aunt, who is probably the craziest of the two, claimed she would hear noises and see shadows in her house and that it was clearly ghost. At one point her and her family bought a house in which, months earlier, the owner (an older lady) passed away in.

I was probably 8-10 yrs old at the time, but she would tell everyone about how some nights, after she cleans the kitchen and goes into the living room to watch tv before going to bed, sometimes she will her cabinets open and close. And that there were times when she would go through the kitchen at night and a cabinet door would be open or something was moved around where it wasn't suppose to be. She claims she has seen a figure of an old woman walk into another bedroom as she entered the hallway, etc.

So when I was younger I use to believe that shite. My dad would tell me "don't listen to them. They convince themselves to believe what they want", but I thought he was telling me that just so I wouldn't be scared.

When I got older and realized they were nuts, I thought back to the time they would claim to see ghost. The aunt who claimed she would hear cabinets open and close, etc. She has 4 kids. Til this day they never told her, but because they knew she would think some crazy stuff, they use to frick with her. One in particular would run to the kitchen, open and shut some cabinets, sometimes would just go move shite around. One time he evidently went in while she was watching TV to tell her that while he was going to the bathroom, he saw someone go in, they turned off the lights. He waited and waited because he thought it was one of his siblings in there, but after awhile he opened to see what was going on and no one was there. So she was already kind of crazy, but her kids made it worse.

The other aunt, well... She is the type who likes to be scared to the point she thinks she hears and sees things. So with all that said, I think people who believe in ghost or claim they have seen ghost, its all in their head. Bottom Line
