To anyone who watched Eyes Wide Shut, did you notice the sequence of events during the final toy store scene? I don't think it was nearly as benign as it seems.
1. The daughter is dressed in a blue coat and hat.
2. A doll dressed in blue suddenly appears on the lap of a big teddy bear. The parents are standing next to this teddy bear.
3. Two well-dressed old men in the background are looking at and holding a smaller teddy bear. These same men were at the Christmas party early in the movie, and dad doesn't recognize them (or doesn't acknowledge them).
4. The daughter walks right next to the two men.
5. The daughter turns to look at mom for a moment, as if to ask "is it okay?".
6. Mom and daughter make eye contact briefly. Mom abruptly turns her head away. This is the last time we see the daughter before the movie ends.
7. Mom and dad discuss their sex lives, not paying attention to the daughter any longer.
8. Mom says "let's f---"
9. The end.

Kubrick enjoyed giving us clues, the world is much darker than most imagine.
