Not true. While there is a limited appeal to race/class warfare by some conservatives, the VAST majority of race baiting is done by liberals. Without racial envy/hatred, the Democrat party would not exist. Take away the 90% black vote (and a good portion of self-hating lighter toned voters) they get by selling racism and they'd be 30% of the congress and never, ever win another presidential election. Racism is THE main course offered by Democrats, it's an appetizer for Republicans.

It's not that a puppet master had any thing to do with this is, but they have restarted the race wars that had calmed down before Obama took office.
I mean, I've maintained for years that racism in those under the age of 50 is based on crime statistics, rather than the old school racist thought process of blacks being a lesser race.
Now, the current drug laws in this country exacerbate the issues this country has with blacks and crime. But every day, young men still make the decision to shoot each other over a plant, or not be around their son who they could steer in the direction.
