Saw a thread a few years back about this degree? What do you think of this degree and school? For those of you who majored in it, what did you do with it? Almost done with this degree and I dont know if I want to work in this field. Maybe CAT or cargill

Just don't listen to all the comments that are going to say you can't do anything with this degree.

Very similiar curriculum to the standard business degree. Honestly, work experience will mean more than what your degree is in. Take a job that will give you the greatest responsibility and opportunity to prove yourself. Make sure you find a boss that doesn't suck. Interview several times a year and only leave to better your position - you don't want to job hop too frequently. Network everywhere you go.

I know guys with agbus degrees that are ag traders (grains, etc). They make bank.

My best friend graduated in Ag Business and now works with Cisco as an IT sales rep of some sort. I know that probably doesn't help much, but my buddy never had any desire to get into agriculture. I'm not even sure why he chose that degree.

This. Several guys at my work have agbus degrees and work as grain traders. It's not the sexiest thing to tell someone you do but I'm sure the s550s they drive help them sleep at night.

I would advise you that you should have asked this question before choosing the degree.

My degree is in Ag Business Finance and I work in Commercial Real Estate. I started out selling Farms and Ranches for a Keller Williams branch. I know quite a few guys who got the degree because they thought the finance part was an easier load. One now manages a seed company. The other two haven't really amounted to much. I think one of them works for a mortgage lender and hates his life.

I will probably exit the field once my passive income builds up to the point when I can. I've always wanted to be a history teacher.

Great thing about CRE is the passive income potential. I know dead guys who are still making money. Its so cut throat (anything sales really) that I want to pull my hair out.

An AgBusiness degree is the ticket it you want to work in Farm Credit.

Many great cities / states to work in, great work environment, great pay and benefits.

If I could start all over, I would try to get into Farm Credit as soon as I got out of college. I never knew about it until I saw some tax returns with the fame credit liabilities on them....shoulda woulda coulda

I have this degree and went to Law School. Some of my classmates work for ag or chemical companies. Others are insurance salesmen and work in various financial markets.

I got one and work in chemical sales/consulting. It pays well and keeps me interested, so I'd say it worked out. I think commodity trading would be interesting as well, but I'm happy where I am now.
