Living outdoors here is miserable. The south is much more conducive to city and indoor living. And that's fine.

I'm just trying to get you to see why you prefer the south to the north, and why I prefer the north to the south...despite us growing up in polar opposite places.

I loved it. I grew up in La, but lived in Boston for a couple of years. I absolutely loved winter. I liked the cold and the snow. I would sit for hours and just watch it snow out my window.

100% especially after two weeks of -20 and -40 wind chills. Everything defrost and it becomes like a false break up. its awful.

My wife (no pics) lived in Duluth for several years she told me about nights at -50 and the cars had plug ins to keep the engine warm. I hate Summer, but frick that!!

I found the weather there to be better overall, except the constant wind in the Valley. Juneau is kind of on the cusp, Haines to the north gets a lot more snow when we get rain. Lynn Canal seems to be a little cooler than in town.

Liked the Fishhook area around Palmer, it doesn't get quite the wind the town itself does. Did play golf (if you can call it that) on a day in January 2001 though.

I grew up in Pittsburgh and I'm allergic to cold. Seriously. I get hives when it gets too cold. It was fricking miserable having to climb out from under that electric blanket to go out into -10 degree windchill to wall a mile to the bus stop. That wind cuts right through you, no matter how many layers of clothing you have on. Our driveway was gravel and was on an incline and my dad would be out there at 5am shoveling in negative temperatures so that he could get his car up the driveway to be able to go to work. Scraping the ice off the windows so you can see, icy roads causing you to slide ---- frick that shite. I miss a lot of things about it but the cold is the one thing I don't miss.

I’m sorry but until you’ve walked 4 blocks dodging black ice and snow. Only reason being a dumbfrick has “dibs” on the open spot in front of your house because they put their junk in the street. (And that’s legal somehow btw) Then shivering so much you miss the keyhole of your house with your key you really don’t know. So funny when ppl say summer is worse than winter

This. At least the South has nice winters and the North has cool summers. I use to work frequently in KC and they get all of the extremes.
