When I go to my brother in laws house and use ice from his refrigerator, it makes my drinks flat as hell. Ice looks OK by the eye but I poured some Tonic Water over some ice Sunday and added some Don Julio and it was flat as hell in 1 minute

I have this issue every time I go there. It happens with soda as well.

Any thoughts? I will bring my own ice in the future but is this a water quality issue or freeze rate?

TIA

If by flat you mean bland, his filters are removing too much of what you want.

Is the ice really white, or clear? If it's really white it may have too much air in it, meaning it'll melt much more quickly and water it down.

Air in the ice making it melt faster and thus diluting the tonic water/soda.

I'm not looking for this thread to garner many responses. You really handcuffed yourself with the restriction.

I’m thinking something is affecting the solubility curve.

It’s likely pH. His water has a lower pH than yours, I’d bet.

ETA: My ACT scores are underwhelming. English is a second language, and it affected the outcome.

I didnt notice any different color of the ice. But I feel like its not watered down but its flat. I poured a newly opened bottle of tonic over the ice and in seconds it had zero fizz..
