Not exactly. My Seiko 5 with the 7S26C mov't was made in Malaysia and my other S5 with the 7S36 mov't was made in Japan. K doesn't mean Korea as much as it means "outside of Japan". Between the two 5's I have there is no difference in accuracy or fit and finish of the watches or movements. Since Seiko is moving to consolidate parts across all movements no matter which factory produces them the difference is merely academic and I'd get whichever att he best price I could find it.

After much consideration of the seiko, I went with the deep blue sea ram 500. FYI-I found brand new on jomashop.com for $149.
