Question for Jeep owners

I have a 2009 Jeep, with a soft top. The rear window does not want to zip up. Top left side has a separation in the teeth, but there are no teeth missing or broken- but I can not get the window zipped past that part. Any suggestions?

Rip it off and throw it in the garbage. Jeep life, bruh.

I used to grab the tab of the zipper with a pair of pliers when it didn't want to zip up.

cover the gap with band-aids that say "life is good"

Im afraid if I pull too hard, the zipper will break. Have you ever used any wax or grease?

Use vise grips and zip it all the way off and put it back on. Rubb a bar of soap on the zipper afterwards. Helps lube it. Its just gotten off track by a tooth or so.

It may help to soap the direction you need to go first and wet it a lil. But it will eventually go.

I did this and bought a whole new top for like $300.

If it is stopping where the teeth separate, you will probably need to manually get those back together. I had to do it once. I used a couple pair of pliers and maneuvered the teeth one by one back together.

I'm a typical chick with a Jeep...which means I just know how to jeepwave. And I have a hardtop on mine.

Same here. I keep a leatherman in the back of mine. And I have a somewhat new top, bought it 2 years ago. They are really tight and stiff when new. I actually broke part of the zipper pull when I grabbed it with the pliers.
I've heard soap, chapstick, and a few other things that can help lube them up.

This. If things are getting hard, might be time to change the top. Sun is hell on them.

top is crooked sounds like. jocky the sail panels a little and try and zip it back again.

Use a pencil (or a bar of soap) to smooth the surface of the teeth so they slide easier(zipper wax if you got it)
If that doesn't work, the slider might not be working properly. First, double-check to make sure a piece of cloth or thread isn't stuck in the zipper. Next, look at the individual teeth. If any of them are sticking out, grab a pair of pliers and move them back into place so they're all straight.
If the teeth are straight, and clean, take a look at the slider itself. Over time, the slider starts to come apart, and when that happens it stops clinching the zipper teeth together. Grab some pliers and try closing the slider together until it catches the teeth again.

I don't care what anyone says, jeep owners are the best! Thanks everyone for the helpful tips, with all the rain we have had lately its been a pain in the arse not being able to zip up.

Leave it parked in the sun.
ETA: Oops I should've read that it wasn't a new top.
