I can only think of one scenario when you actually would want to rush as an upperclassman...
If you are transferring in, and you have a bunch of friends (from high school, or whatever) that are in the same fraternity.

We had a guy who was an actual preppy (i.e., a real prep school graduate from Connecticutt). How he got to LSU was a long story, but he dressed that way for real, as did the rest of his family and all his friends from home. Not so much the shorts, but he was heavy on the blue blazers and patchwork pants.
