Question about College of Agriculture

I'm a junior at LSU and contemplating a major change International Business. Im in Ag management right now. I was interested in Wildlife Ecology or environmental management but I would be here way too long. Couldn't afford it. I did have aspirations to be a PA, but GPA is bad after freshman year. Should I go for it and major in Agribusiness? Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

ag is the lowest paying profession in the USA.
get into nursing. time with coeds (and later with adult women) and jobs aplenty.
don't worry if you take another year or two. You will get work.
Day one.
do ecology as a hobby. learn permaculture. you will be able to afford a house and a couple of acres as a nurse.

Ecology really interests me, the class was cool, but Idk how the job field looks.

if you want to work in the field your whole life go ahead...but if you want to make any real money, and also not be completely exhausted by the time you are in your 50s, I would suggest learning some statistics/modeling skills.
Ecology is going more quantitative.

You can do a lot of stuff in the environmental field with an ecology degree. It may not be ecology specifically but you can find something similar until you can find a well paying job related to ecology.
Also, there is a shortage of geologists so you might want to look into that as well.

False. Louisiana ag industry has been one of the strongest and most successful for the state for years. And companies like pioneer, stoneville, and BASF pay their employees extremely well. Agbusiness is a very good degree with job opportunities right out of college

PS - dont go by me, I have no idea if its a good "field" or not. I also recommend you dont listen to the other douche bags like myself on this site. If you like it, do it. Go see your counselor and have him show you some statistics and career paths.

I honestly don't know a human being working in the agriculture industry that is hurting for money. There are so many opportunities besides being a farmer.

I'm going to see counsellors tomorrow . I don't want a panic attack like I had last semester due to majors/ careers
Thing is, one professor gave me visions of sleeping with gorillas, wrestling with lions and studying elephants. Basically some kraits brothers or Steven Irwin jack Hanna shite
but another dude told me I'll be getting 30,000 and it's hard to get those ... Better off being a zookeeper which is kinda cool

I have an agribusiness degree from LSU. Got a job with CAT right out of school, and eventually went back and to get my MBA 3 years later. Hasn't slowed me down at all in my career.

Just relax. It's not uncommon to change majors halfway through.
Go to your advisor and pick out some possible majors you might want to go into and see what classes would count towards those majors then make a decision from there.

haha no no... I wouldn't do the Wildlife shite, but people like seed and chemical reps and salesmen, irrigation consultants, crop consultants, and farm managers make a good living.

I'm gonna weigh my options. I've taken more business classes so I'd get out faster but Ecology is an interesting cool thing. Thanks for all the help. I'm going to several advisors and counsellors tomorrow. And many people get jobs in fields not relevant to their degree. Or I can find some bs temp job. Teacher or Maybe a gym
