Question about bringing loose change to a bank

I have an empty water jug that I drop loose change into and I was thinking of taking it to the bank and seeing how much it's worth.
I'd rather not try those CoinStar things at stores because it charges you a percentage.
Does anyone know if your bank charges you to do this? I really have no idea.
Thank you in advance.

My bank will do loose change deposits only at certain locations. No fee charged. Call your bank and they'll let you know their policy.

Roll the coins yourself. Banks won't accept coins loose especially in that quantity.

Mine doesnt.
If your bank charges you to give them money for a change out, find another bank.

They usually have a no-fee Amazon gift card offer.

Whitney made me unroll mine and they dumped it in the counter. Free if you have an account.
Over $700 dollars in quarters multiple times.

My bank has a coin counter machine in the lobby. I recently dumped a 1/3 full water jug into it and it spit out a receipt for $600+. Take receipt to teller and they give you cash or a deposit slip. Took less than 10 minutes.

I deal with Capital One bank. I used to take jugs of coins to the bank and use their coin machine. Two months ago, they took the coin machine out and the lady there told me that Capital One banks in this area are no longer providing coin machines.
BTW...If you were a customer of Capital One, you did not pay a fee to convert your coins. A non member would pay a small fee to use the machines. Obviously, it doesn't matter anymore at Capital One.

Get a debit or credit card, for frick's sake. No need to deal with loose coins these days.

The capital one here still do it with no fee.

My credit union charged me a fee to use the machine in the lobby. I was pissed. My fault, though, should've asked beforehand. But that's why I use a credit union--lower fees.
Previously used the Coinstar machine at grocery store and got my Amazon receipt for about $200.

I brought in about $1200 in change from this house I cleaned out after Katrina. The damn bank said they wouldn't take any Katrina change, so I had to go home and wash all of it. frick that nonsense

It's not so much the fee as it is finding a location that has coin counting services.
Coin counters in the lobby are getting more and more rare, and most branches of a bank don't have an industrial coin counter/separator.

You should have called a local TV station. They'd love some storm victim story like that (unless that bank buys time on their channel).
