Hmm, in some states you have to build your fence three feet from the property line. You better make sure it's not the same there.

I just spoke to an attny about this as my neighbor and I would both like a fence on the property line and he suggests sharing the costs.
He will build his house before me and likely would put up the fence anyway. My attorney said that if he builds the fence and I later tie into it that I am on the hook for half the cost of the fence legally if he wants to make an issue of it.
This may apply if you nail to his fence.
