We get it, you would let a dog suffer before putting it down.

No how about fricking off?

Never said anything remotely like that. Take your own advice.

We lost two of ours only 7 weeks apart. That sucked.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear, my dog died about 6 months ago way too soon. The other is older, but couldn't imagine losing him too, especially for the wife's sake being we don't have children.

I hope you don’t have a third dog. Because if you do that fricker is about to run away from home!!

In all seriousness I’m sorry for your loss

Blended family woes - yes we have a beautiful blonde lab 6 years old.

My 12 yo Golden lived a full wonderful life as a inside companion dog. We loved him and he loved our family. Eventually this big bodied loving dog could not get up - killed me to put this one down.

Our 7 yo rescue died of lymphoma cancer today diagnosed Sept 2017 - we love all of our pups & grieve for them.

TY everyone for the supportive post.

What caused the need to put the dogs down? I hate having to do this. We have a number of rescues, fosters, etc. and we have had a number to die. Never gets any better, it seems.

When your dogs neck lymph nodes ( cancer ) have swollen to the point of restricting air, food & swallowing- it’s time to put the dog down. In addition to bloody stools - why make your family member suffer???

Put our 14yr old dachshund to sleep

Lost my 17 year old dachshund Wednesday. Vet says he thinks he had a stroke. Didn't have to put him down or watch him suffer, but it sucks none the less.

To the OP, my condolences. You too Tigerdew.
