Not only is it illegal it is very dangerous.

You are only supposed to use your hazards when your car is stopped.

If I see hazards ahead of me in a driving rain storm i'm thinking a car may be stopped in the middle of the road and i'm slowing down.

I'm not sure where you people learned this, but you are going to cause an accident.

Thanks,

Last Monday it was like that and it was like driving through a neighborhood on Christmas Eve. Flashing lights everywhere.

Not fun.

I usually just turn my wipers and lights off and take my chances.

If I can't see anything and they can't see me.........Bliss.

Good post, it is extremely dangerous.

What I typically do is tap the breaks every few seconds just to be sure everyone around can see me.

Traveling through Alabama a few years ago in a driving rain storm and half the gumps on the road had their hazard lights on while driving. Very dangerous.

I put my hazards on so blind idiots don't hit me. It's not for my driving, it's for all of the idiots out there driving around me

Disagree, I think not seeing cars in front of you is more dangerous. A lot of times In heavy rain, I have a hard time seeing cars in front of me... It helps if they have hazards on and I am more able to see them before I'm right on top of them. it also helps those behind me to see me, hopefully preventing some dumbass from plowing into me.

I 100% disagree with you for heavy low-visability rain conditions.

More lights is common sense in low-visability situations.

car...interstate...heavy rain... Better safe than sorry when lives could be on the line.

Only women and slow men do this. I see a few have made it to this thread. I agree those people are too stupid to drive.

Was driving over pontchartrain in a severe storm once during the day. White out rain and no one was doing over 40.

Literally couldn't see 10 feet ahead, i didn't mind being alerted who was where by any means possible.

Especially on such a bridge in those conditions. Just drive alert.
