The worst was when I saw a woman opening cartons of chicken stock at the grocery store and saying "All of these have been opened! See, the foil inside is broken!"
To which I replied, "I'm pretty sure the foil inside is broken when you open the top. That's what those little prongs on the inside of the cap do. They cut the foil. So unless the plastic clips that hold the cap on were broken, I'm pretty sure you just opened and broke the seal on all of those chicken stocks."
She turned beet red and quickly scampered away.

At 8th grade baseball this kid showed at practice with a real expensive baseball mitt. Now we all knew he/parents didn't have the money, neither did anyone else. He admitted to switching the mitt in the box with a much cheaper mitt.
I was buying a fishing reel and the store clerk switched the reel with a lot better reel in the boxes. I didn't notice until I putting the reel on the rod. I have to admit I kept the reel.

We used to do it with footballs at academy all the time... I got an authentic college ball ($60) for 7.99 because it fit in a pee wee football box

Always take the lids off deodorant sticks to make sure the deodorant hasn't been taken for a test drive.
