Just a PSA to parents with young children out there.

RSV is pretty bad this year. It is lasting longer and the symptoms are far more severe than last year.

If you hear of another child in your kid's daycare or a relative's child who has had it, be aware of how infectious it is and how bad it can be.

I don't want to read any "pray for my kid" threads on here. Seen too many bad outcomes so far this year.

Wash hands and be conscious of sick kids that your child may be around.

Best wishes.

Merry Christmas.

If only. Respiratory Syncytial Virus.

Causes bronchiolitis in young kids.

You just get cold symptoms for the most part.

No. That is Pertussis.

Vaccines take care of that.

Kcrad is too full of Christmas spirits for Kcrad to feel cold symptoms.

Told father in law I had a sinus infection.

He said "step into my bar and let's numb that pain"

I am definitely numb right now

So vaccines cause autism AND Pertussis? Why aren't they outlawed yet?

Yes, it is. Ours got it a month ago and even though he's better and over the worst of it, congestion, etc. have been lingering for weeks. Pain in the arse. Pretty much all of the kids at daycare near his age ended up with that crap. Really challenging.

I'm dealing with too much Tito's and too much coffee. An odd, yet satisfying experience.

Yea, the cough can linger for weeks.

It's been a crazy season. Haven't seen much, if any flu.

It feels like RSV has been 50+% of our admissions.

What does Scruffy do for a living?

And has Scruffy received the whooping cough vaccine like lucasp suggested?

If you are up to date on your vaccines, you have too.

It's part of the DTaP vaccine.
