I bet at least one of the four 18 wheelers wasn't going 55 (or 65) and was in the left lane

Need to build a tunnel or double deck that thing. Ridiculous to bring traffic to a standstill for hours because of an accident. Bloody Mary needs to do work.

I got stuck on there for 5 hours one time because a cucumber truck wrecked. That was miserable, but the smell was pleasant.

When did this happen because they had a cucumber truck overturn a couple years ago right past the Grosse Tete exit coming into Baton Rouge I got stuck in for a couple hours.

I don't understand how these truck drivers end up in these situations. It seems like this kind of shite happens everyday, either on this bridge or I12. What makes these roads so much more dangerous?

yep ... signs are posted ... all trucks in the right lane, no exceptions ... speed limit 65 ... most abide, but some don't ...

And very often they have to try to dodge 4 wheelers that are cutting in front of them.
And speeding? The truck in my avatar is governed at 60 mph. I couldn't go much faster unless I was going down a long steep grade, and I don't know of one of those on the basin bridge. As are many of the 18 wheelers out there.

Lotsa folks all up in here already knowing what happened and who is to blame. State Popo should hire them. They could fill out reports and write tickets from what they see on a Tigerdroppin thread.

From HoumaToday.com

quote:

BATON ROUGE — One person was killed in a fiery crash involving four 18-wheelers that shut down traffic today in both directions on Interstate 10 west of Baton Rouge.

The Friday evening accident happened on part of the long elevated section of interstate highway known as the Basin Bridge. State police Trooper Greg Marchand said the accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. and the cause was under investigation. The lanes were still closed as of 8 p.m.

Marchand said no hazardous materials were found on the trucks.

.....We have an accident involving 4 big rigs on stretch of road when they are limited to the right hand lane and someone is still blaming those "four wheelers".
