This got me to thinking on what legislation will be drawn up (because you know their will be with over 250 dead or hurt).

I have a strong feelings that major hotels will be required to check your belongings at check in sooner rather than later.

Almost like TSA style.

How can a dude check into a hotel with enough firepower to do that and no one raises an alarm?

What do yall think? I don't think they will try and go after the 2nd amendment. That would be political suicide.

What’s special about hotels though?

Might as well check everything everywhere.

Welcome to full police state.

I think that a hotel has no legal right to search any private citizen.

There's a huge difference between the TSA and Holiday Inn.

Because eliminating high-capacity magazines and military style weapons is a completely tyrannical violation of the Second Amendment

I figure any hotels with facing walls looking at any major public gathering space would be the first wave.

I believe while you're a paying occupant, a hotel room is considered an extension of your home.

Do we not already have a cap on high capacity magazines?

Guns were probably all able to be broken down to fit into normal luggage

Although people stay at hotels with long guns all the time. Sometimes people travel with rifles for hunting or target shooting. crazy I know

Well it's private property and you can't use their private property unless you consent to their terms that has the full force of law behind it.

As usual, some a-hole ruins it for the rest of us and we all lose more freedom and privacy.

WTF does this even mean? There are sniper rifles based off of common hunting rifles... so hunting rifles are military style weapons? The military uses Beretta 9mm pistols... so I can't have one of those bc it's a military style weapon?

I love people who get their talking points from CNN.

No matter what phrase I use, people will start a debate over semantics as a means to shift the conversation. Use some common sense; yall know damn well what I mean. If it isn't commonly used for hunting, or self-defense then it is unnecessary.

I see, but there was an 8 weapon rumor on Fox news.

Like I only own a glock 20. I don't own any LR so more or less im just trying to get educated on how you could breakdown 8 LR's (potentially) and make it look like normal carry in luggage?

And what? It's on the black-market, so, therefore, it's pointless to have laws against it? We just give up and don't try?

Will never happen. Too many entrances and exits required by fire codes. They can't run checkpoints at every one of them. Most hotels have a skeleton crew working at night. No way they could manage searching luggage. Besides, just think of the number of dildos and butt plugs they would find. No one wants that job.
