Pregnant woman runs over alleged purse thief, now facing charges

Christine Braswell, 26, says she walked out of Walmart to find a man, later identified as Robert Raines, going through the belongings in her SUV. The woman, who is five months pregnant, says she confronted Raines before he allegedly took off with her purse. She says she tried to chase after him but couldn’t catch up, so she got in her car. "I came back out here, and he was with my purse and took off. I took off after him. Me being five months pregnant, I chased a little ways then came back, jumped in the car, threw it in gear and came across the curb and ran him over. I was not letting him get away with it. It's not right. It's not fair,” Braswell said.

I can see both sides. What she did was the equivalent of shooting him while he was running away. I have zero pity for the thief, but you also cannot apply deadly force once the situation de-escalates.

Yeah, theft is not punishable by death. You have to have legitimate reason to feel your life is in danger to escalate to deadly force. As it should be.
