There are places that sell all sorts of beneficial insects. You can get the mantis, lacewings, ladybugs, parasitic wasps and flies, fungi, you name it. Unfortunately, it seems with all sellers it can be a crapshoot if you get viable eggs or larvae.

They are the lowest level of garden pest predator, because they are indiscriminate killers - spiders, bees, lizards, ladybugs and other beneficial insects/animals are just as likely to be a victim as some garden pest.
I nurture and have a bunch of the true apex predator - the aptly named Assassin Bug. It will use its long probiscus to spear its victim, inject lethal venom or digestive juices to kill it, and then suck on the prey to feed.

I have some really good actual camera pics of assasin bugs on a memory card somewhere. I just haven't gotten around to loading them, and I use my phone on here 95% of the time. I need to look through them.

I really like those photographs. The young wheel bugs will give you a really painful bite.

I'm a pretty big fan of dead toasted crickets. Frick insects. Their only use is for being fish food. They be messing up gardens and crops and sturfs

My fascination with bugs is kinda like my interest in outer space. Kinda like peeking into an unknown world. There are still tons of undiscovered insects!

I know. Insects and deep sea stuff I just love to learn about. I love putting them on to go to sleep.

I've watched several dragonflies hanging around a beehive, merrily picking off and eating oblivious bees returning to the hive.
