Ryan was well on his way to a 690-700 raw bench press...then stopped training and started doing MMA or something! New record bench though is 1102.

Was the new record by Gene Rycheck or however his last name was spelled?

But the diet sounds like what Garry frank would eat before he consulted a nutritionist, not to mention he would train around midnight.

I didn't know Kennelly trained for mma

Yep, and later failed at an attempt of 1015

I believe it was MMA, but he did slow down big time on his training. He was on his way to massive raw and equipped lifts.

The only reason I can think it would be consumed at all is for the calories. Then again though, they're empty calories.

Reminds me of watching guys getting fat drinking large Hulk smoothies with extra ice cream who somehow believe they are becoming heavy lifters.

A lot of bros "fat load" before a meet or event where they are gonna throw up a ton of weight.. I guess if you're just trying to slap on mass that's a good way to do it. I think there are some different more affordable methods to help increase lifts without having to be a fatass as well.

ETA: some people's bodies respond better to a high volume of fat right before a heavy or peak lift, some people respond to carbs. Just depends and if you know your body
