If a parent is on autopilot so badly that they forget their child in a hot car, then they deserve to be put in a dark alley only to hear "Wurlstah!". Whatever happens after that isn't my problem.

Jesus I feel bad leaving my daughter in the car to get out and take a picture of our house being built.
I leave it running, and stand next to the car for long enough to take a picture. I still get paranoid about the door shutting and locking her in there or something.
