ENOUGH! Call me out of touch, dated, crotchety, whatever you want. But damn can you FB-ers, Insta- ers, Twitter-ers not have a single gathering or event where the company you are with is enough stimuli? My opinion is in essence you are telling me and most others present " You guys aren't interesting enough let me see what's going on in someone else's life right now." And while I'm at it, the answer is usually YES when asked "Hey have you seen this video,meme,picture, GIf etc.?" If its a truly funny one then yes we've probably seen it. You're not breaking news. When I'm out and about I'm usually there to see what's THERE. Quit with the "Hey look at this...." bullshite on your phone.

Agreed, see the error in my ways. Also see a difference being tied down to a desk with nothing going on at the moment and being out "socializing" having to "check in".

I got drunk a couple weekends ago and agreed to let some girls sign me up on Facebook. Took me 3 or 4 days to remember the log in info. Finally figured it out, and I don't get the hype. So much bullshite to sift through.

Sometimes when you're in social settings, you hate the people you're with. Getting on your phone is a good way to avoid those people
