"When they say it's racially motivated, the person who said that must be racially motivated because they're assuming that only minorities break into homes, which is not the case. The individual I was speaking about was Caucasian," the sheriff said.
This is the same video I saw a few days ago where he was basically like "Whoever you are that shot this man, please come talk to us...you aren't in any trouble whatsoever, but we can offer you classes to help you shoot better" or something like that.

Sid told us same thing in our special concealed carry class.
Also I think it's a pretty universal recommendation from LEO to make sure you kill the person if you have to shoot them.
1. it's the only way to 100% neutralize the threat
2. it's much more difficult for dead bodies to defend themselves in court

Detroit's chief said the same 10 or so years ago.
I think he's in politics now.

I'm of the opinion that
If someone breaks into your home... There isn't time to determine if that is the only law they are willing to break. All bets are off, do what you gotta do to make sure you/yours are the ones getting questioned by the police afterwards
ETA Santa Rosa county may be one of the reddest / most Churches per capital places in America

Has never even remotely been a question in our home. Get past my cameras, my alarms, my two 100lb German Shepherds...we'll be waiting...you're dead .

On the other extreme there are billboards warning you that possession of even a LITTLE Marijuana is still a crime in their state.
As I understand it that has to do with undesirable spring breakers causing issues the last couple years.
They setup checkpoints for people coming down from LA, MS, AL & GA between I10 and the beach and anyone with a warrant or speeding gets pulled over now.
Marijuana? Jail
Illegal firearm? Jail
Warrant? Jail
Medical marijuana is freely available in FL with a card btw.

Meanwhile the Broward County PD sheriff Scott Israel doesn’t even want citizens to own guns.

I don't see any issues here.

I like him so far.
I wonder what his stance is on civil forfeiture?

It’s better advice to shoot to kill instead of the fantasy of shooting to injure.
There is no such thing as “shooting to injure”.
If you pull your firearm in a defense situation, it’s because you’re going to kill whatever caused you to pull it. Period.

The Sheriff is talking about nothing more than defending one's own life and family within their homes, and yet extreme leftists are still throwing the playbook at him--everything from calling him racist to threatening his life themselves.

The odds of getting hurt in a home burglary are incredibly low. We worry about things that will never happen.
Posted on 3/27/24 at 5:23 pm to SouthEndzoneTiger
I would imagine crime is pretty low in his county.

And?

And that's why I live in Santa Rosa County. If you break into my house, we won't be talking. All you will see is fire coming out of a hollow tube.

Empty the mag.
