yes. yes it would. And I would do it because I hate the person who did this. god help people like him if I'm ever made benevolent dictator.

Not true. I love children but hate dogs.
Disliking dogs doesn't necessarily mean you would hurt one, but if that is the case...

Also, the dog is doing MUCH better. This story really bothered me and I've been keeping up. They have several offers to adopt Caitlyn (the dog not the Olympian).
She is eating whole food and drinking on her own again. They are trying to stimulate blood flow in her mouth and tongue using laser treatments and hyperbaric chambers. She is getting top notch care apparently.
She isn't out of the woods by any means, but she is no longer an hour by hour critical watch. She will most likely need surgery to remove parts of her snout and tongue though.
They should just throw this guy in a dog cage with his tongue taped to his nose for 48 hours.

Why are you hurting that fish in your avy? That's just sick. You should be ashamed of hurting it, and flaunting it on the web. I bet you know Darren Sharper, too.

If that was cat instead of dog, people on here would be saying "Gud!!!!11"
but, yeah, you have to be fricked up beyond repair if you do something like that an animal. Poor pup.

Can animals be cited for being cruel to their owners? My dog shites all over the yard, demands a walk every day, sometimes two, wants a bath at least once a week, demands two meals a day, sheds like crazy, and barks at night.
Who do I call for animal cruelty?

For the animal vs humans crowd: why is animal cruelty a problem for everyone.

Yea that was essentially the point I was making, but tough guy says he is going to "lock me up" for saying that a person who hurts an innocent dog is a POS.

Jesus Christ, this pisses me off. How anyone could do that to a living thing is beyond me. The love I have for my pets is so strong that I couldn't even imagine doing something so horrible.

Unfortunately, in states where farming animals is prevalent (cattle, hogs, sheep, etc) the animal abuse laws are lax because farmers/ranchers are afraid stiffer laws will be used against them. These guys can be big money donors. State legislators tend to be bigger pusses than their federal counterparts, so they cower and don't pass stiff animal cruelty laws. People have been trying for eons to have animal cruelty offenses be classified as felonies in Mississippi but it has fallen on deaf ears...

These sorts of stories really reveal a lot about my internal struggle of logic over emotion. One the one hand, I realize this low-life degenerate scum is the by-product of low-life degenerate scum and an equally terrible environment... screwed by his genetics into being a shite bag. On the other hand, I want to rip his fricking throat out, Rambo style, and beat the ever-loving shite out of him with it.

Without a doubt they hold a lot of sway. I remember a few months back Chris Christie vetoed a ban on some kind of crates that are used for raising pigs despite the fact that only one small farm in the state used them. It turned out that he was just doing it to appease voters in Iowa where there is a huge farm lobby. I don't know much about the crate issue, but it blew my mind that the farm lobby was affecting policy decisions in New Jersey of all places.
