What happened to this 'craze'? Seems to have fallen off the charts.

Its still big here

They just released Gen 2 Pokemon

I never really got into it because its a battery drain

I played it a lot when I was in Las Vegas though

I think it was a good concept but shitty execution

There's been a slight dip in recent weeks, but after all the Oscar buzz dies down, all the kids will get back into it.

TL;DR: App functionality being removed made it impossible to track a specific Pokemon, even if it was nearby.

Long Winded Version:
First couple of weeks were awesome cause you could track specific Pokemon, either in-app or by third party trackers.

They banned all third party apps a week or so after everyone lost the ability to track Pokemon in-app as their servers could not handle all of the traffic.

So basically, after a month or so, you could wander around aimlessly hoping to find whatever random Pokemon would show up. Typically, some rare Pokemon would spawn in the same area, but the only way to know that was on forums from the crazies who hung out at Pokestops and lures all day.

In Atlanta, there were specific parks and shopping centers for the first few weeks that were absolutely packed. All started dying down around the month mark.

Just because you don't play it doesn't mean it has "fallen off the charts".

It's a lot better now, but it's too late. They already lost everyone.
