Playing in my first casino poker tournament -- Looking for Strategy Tips!

So I play a regular house game with some buddies every week, and a few of us thought we'd see how we fare in a casino tournament. We joined an upcoming no-limit hold em tournament with the following rules:
$200 buy-in (1 rebuy)
Starting Chips: 5,000
Blind Structure: 20 minutes
Players: Minimum 30, Max 50
The top 5 get a payout.
I do well in the house games (I'll win 25-50% of the time), but I know this is a whole different animal. I don't expect to win, but I'd like to play well. I'd be happy if I can finish in the top 20.
What should my strategy be?
Any suggestions would be great.

Patience. Patience. Patience.

Poker is for suckers. Look for a roulette tournament. Better odds and hotter chicks.

You gotta know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em

Play as if A) you're in your home game and B) you don't GAF. This has worked for me on numerous occasions.

If you can't spot the fish at the table it's you

A line from rounders. Nice.

What concerns me about this is if I play too aggressively with 8-10 at the table, I'll get burned. However, if I switch and try to play too tight I'll get blinded out.

First off if you are only getting 5k in starting chips y'all are getting ripped off for a $200 buy in. Our weekly $60 buy ins have starting stacks of 8k up to 12k at the horseshoe in tunica

You have to feel the table out. Sometimes you'll need to play like Dan Harrington and other times you'll be able to play like Lex Veldhuis.

It's 100x the starting blinds which isn't outrageous.

Wait till you get really good cards and play them. Also try not to bluff.

Is OP an Asian that doesn't believe in personal hygiene and is very rude?
If not, he stands no chance.

What?
Here's some real advice. Download a program called pokerstove and start fooling around with hand ranks. Once you get a decent feel for some basic hand ranks, then just try and play somewhat tight from early percentage (i.e. only raise ~top 15% hands -- just tossing that # out there), and loosen up when you get to late position.
Always count your big blinds. When you get to around ~10 BB, you're only playing push/fold poker. Raise 3x the BB pre flop in the early stages of the tournament. If you get deep, just 2xing the BB is completely fine. Read a little bit about continuation betting if you like to raise a lot of hands pre flop. If you actually do read a little about continuation betting -- focus on wet and dry flops. And c-betting half pot is more than enough in a tournament.
You want to focus on playing a better hand range than your opponents pre-flop, value betting your better hands post flop (value betting = when you perceive yourself as having the best hand), and knowing when to push/fold when you get to around ~10BBs.

I was in school around the time of the poker boom. There were some annoying fricks who thought they were the next big thing in poker.
