Late July. We'll be there about 4 days. Must see, Must do, BBQ restaurant advice? Thanks in advance. (I'm thinking HS Nat park is a given?)

If you are looking for the popular things to do in town, roll down your windows and listen for the banjo music. Follow the sound, and you will find the hot spots.

I get the Arkansas jokes and normally I'd be on board, but Hot Springs is great. Like I said in an earlier post, don't hold the fact that it's in Arkansas against it. It's not like the rest of Arkansas. I hate Arkansas and love Hot Springs.

Don't try to compare Hot Springs to Destin. The only thing Hot Springs trumps the coast is that it doesn't get the crazy traffic.

I see poor HS is getting a lot of heat. We went a few years ago when I was 8 months pregnant and loved it. We stayed at the Long Island Lake Resort. It's nothing special but has a kitchenette and was enough space for us two and two dogs. It sits on Lake Hamilton...people there were very nice. You can fish and rent boats.
We went to see a magician (his name is slipping me right now) in the downtown area and ate at a few places.
I liked HS because it was quiet, slow paced, and off the map a bit. I enjoyed it.

In hot springs village for the holiday. Renting a house. Wonderful views. Played golf, going to the lake tomorrow, hiked the national park trails. I have nothing bad to say about it. First time here and it is beatiful.

I have a place there.

BBQ- Smokin' n style
Golf-cc nice but go to hot springs village. Very nice courses w bent grass greens. Research the courses to see which one u prefer
Lakes-Hamilton is the party lake. Fishing can b good AT NIGHT. Too damn busy in day. Ouchita best for fishing and hiking but quite a ways out if u wanna drive into town. Catherine-good fishing, nice campgrounds, decent hiking, close to town. Catherine's landing has nice cabins, pool n play area.

Mcclards is waaaay overrated. BBQ is average but a leftover tamale spread is the ultimate 4am drunk gut bomb.

Threads like these should be like babe threads. They need pics so we can see WTF you're talking about.

Having said that, I'd be open to a 3 day trip to Hot Springs if there's something for little kids.

I come here often to visit relatives. Often wonder why others vacation here unless they have a place on the lake.

If you visit, check out the KARK weather gal. She is wearing a sexy red dress tonight.

You will feel you stepped back in time when you are there. Hot spot back in the roaring 20's or 40's I think. Actually felt a little depressing there. Lock your doors as crime has shut down many small businesses around there. As other poster mentioned get a cabin on a lake. We stayed at Lake Catherine and rented a boat. Good nature area but you will wish you had gone to the beach when all said and done.

I was in Hot Springs on business last week. Lots of traffic and I believe I saw one of every chain restaurant in existence. It had a very touristy feel to it. I would recommend finding things to do out on the lakes and avoid in-town activities.

We stayed in a cabin on the lake that was really nice and close to everything. HS is nothing spectacular but it's a good 3 or 4 day trip. My kids had a good time but 2 days at the park and they had enough.

Do not eat at the restaurant that is on the lake. I can't remember the name but the food was shite.
