That was a pretty vague article. Prayers sent to those on board.

To be fair, its a pretty recent development.

Said the pilot tried to land it in a road but didn't realize the road turned and they hit a mountain

They said it was a very rapid decent.

Prays sent.
Now, did they serve French Fries on the flight?

24 year old plane. Does anyone know how they determine how long to use planes?
I would think it would be a certain amount of hours. Anyone?

It's awful, it's sad, but it also happened no sullen remarks or thoughts can help anyone on that plane now. Might as well get what you can out of it.

Maybe flight hours/probably just when they choose to revamp the fleet having the funding.
24 years isn't terribly old though, air force is still operating planes 60+
Obviously there's a high level of maintenance that would go into making that work

B 52's were built in the 50's. They won't be retired until 2030 at the absolute earliest. 24 years is nothing for an aircraft.
However I will say I try not to fly the A320. I took a 1 hour 36 minute longer layover when I booked my flight yesterday to avoid an A320.

The Airbus seems like a POS, but I'm only going off recent memory. They might have a fine safety record.

I've had numerous pilots tell me that airbus' autopilot is unsafe. That's the reason I avoid it.
