Anyone know of places close to EBR or LP to sell scrap metal? I have a couple hundred lbs of iron I need to get rid of.

Ferrous metals not worth the time or fuel unless you have 1,000+. It runs around .10lb or below.

On your curb. Anywhere in Louisiana and it'll be gone in about 3 hrs.

Factor in a flat tire for every run to the scrap yard.

Put it on the curb, scrap man will pick it up.

BTW; I scrapped 6 golf cart batteries and got paid $85 for it last month. Good money for 10 minutes of my time.

I was not belittling him, just replying to someone about the scrap prices. I went the other day and got about $110 between 3 trips. Was not worth the time, just wanted to get things cleaned up and get it to a place that could recycle it.

Pull up here and they will unload for you in a clean area where you won't get any flats, give you a receipt and you pull up to the window, give receipt and license and they give you cash.

I had a bunch of heavy pieces and it was $600.00 for a dumpster to get rid of them or the $100.00 to me if I hauled them across the river. I hauled them, stopped and bought a brisket and 2 cases of beer and went to the farm with my change.

Pretty sure EMR Recycling off Scenic and 190 take scrap metal too. I've been by there early mornings before and scene a few trailers of metal waiting for it to open.

EMR Recycling.

Sorry it's this one across the street.
Do a street view and you can see the shite people are bringing up. Scrapped cars, fridges, etc.

It's $13.00 more than he had, whereever he got it from is hopefully cleaner and where else is he going to take it? Landfill is not the place for several hundred pounds of scrap metal. Only on the OT where a person gets belittled for doing anything remotely positive.

Don't forget about -$5.00 or so for gas. That leaves $8.00 for a task that will probably take him 2 hours to complete. $4.00/hr isn't worth it.

As others said, just put it on the street and someone will grab it quickly. Dudes go around my neighborhood with trailers loading up metal, I assume it ends up being worth their time if they have a full load and get some more valuable metals in there.
