I anticipate he will be back. If this guy is as old as he says he is, he is trying to prove a point to who he assumes is a bunch of early 20s entitled embocils that live in our parents basements and get all of our "entry level" information off of google.

We were not allowed to fly through anvil clouds (prominent in central FL during much of the year) because they contain ice (and I think rockets flying in certain atmospheric conditions can facilitate lightning strikes as well).

For other cloud types we could fly through. However, cloud cover may become a concern for visibility at the landing site in RTLS (return-to-launch-site) scenarios. The runway at KSC was about 5-7 miles (my best guess) from LC39B. Point being that weather that was ok to launch in may not have been ok to land in.
