ETA: Well Creole Belle was a coffee. Wonder if it contained chicory

Cardui was patent medicine marketed for relief of menstrual cramps and a host of other things. Like most snake oil drugs of that era it was 20% alcohol.

Chicory isn't as common around this part of the state as it is in deep southeast id guess it's not chicory

But it has to be coffee, according to this the founders of Mello Joy coffee used to work for the makers of Creole Belle.
