I quite like the dial and the 1970s colorways. It is a chunky watch at 43mm x 15.4 thick and a lug to lug of over 50mm so it helps if you have a 7.25 or above flat wrist.

The Selitta SW200-1 Elabore is a solid movement but its weak point is hand winding which I would avoid as much as possible.

KS watches from new companies are always a crapshoot but the backer price is reasonable enough.

That dial is beautiful. It looks like they took a page out of Doxa's playbook. Very good looking watch.

As stated above Kickstarter watches are a crapshoot. If you want a very underrated watch go check out Doxa.

Sounds like for $100 can upgrade to "top grade"

So you have to hand wind it is not automatic? I think it is just that hand winding is possible a d you can strip it

The older I get, the smaller of a watch I prefer. Not ladies small, but I can't stand swinging a dinner plate on my wrist.

I personally wouldn't pay more for a Top the Elabore is fine and they say it will be adjusted in 3 positions.

It is an automatic watch but you can hand wind if the movement has stopped. The Sellitta SW200 is a copy of the ETA 2824 but the SW200 has a high failure rate for the gears that are used to handwind it. It has to do with the difference in the tooth shape on the Sellitta gears. Nothing wrong with the movement otherwise I would just be careful about handwinding routinely and be slow and deliberate when I did.

I think you said you have a large wrist which is good for this watch. There is very little if any taper on the bracelet and the clasp is a chunk as well. It is a common clasp on KS an microbrand tool watches. I only own one microbrand (a Hexa made for the WUS dive watch forum) and while the clasp is very useful with the on worst micro-adjust it is quite bulky.

I keep thinking one of these "micro brands" will be big deal but guess they are buying parts and it is a step up from a mod?

The Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT Good Planet (what a name) is one of my favs as well, it is the last modern Omega I own that I would sell.

Sorry for the quick crappy pic complete with nasty parallax

Grey is great as long as you understand you are essentially insuring yourself during the warranty period. I bought my Good Planet at the Tourbillon Boutique in San Francisco when they had just been out about a week so that is one watch I paid MSRP for. The service interval can be moved out to about 7-8 years on that movement without issue.

Japan has GREAT watch shopping especially used, not as good as HK but very good.

You should visit the Grand Seiko Boutique on Madison Ave it is a great experiance. My favorite GS folks are the people at Timeless Luxury north of Dallas.
