It's really upsetting me that Sally at the DMV is heading home early but still getting paid for it.

It's raining, folks, and it's cold. Let's not act like we're in the middle of an arctic ice storm.

So deal with those on an individual basis

yeh that makes sense...send some people home with pay while others have to say. not really practical do you think?

Did I say anything about sending home some with pay? I just said to deal with affected individuals on an as needed basis. Not "well, holy shiznizzle!! It's cold and rainy somewhere nearby today. Let's lock this shite up and get out of here! Whatever we are doing can wait another few days."

think about gov't workers...do you really think they wouldn't be saying "well frick they got to go home why shouldn't we get to go home"

I understand your point but I also know how much people gripe when others get special treatment.

Why not just say, in a case such as this where staying poses no immediate danger to anyone, that if you need to leave you must use personal leave, instead of just a free half day off?

I am with you on that. Someone asked me earlier if we would be getting off at lunch and I said just tell them you are using a half day.
