I am in a relationship with someone who has control issues. It can be extremely frustrating.

Aren't you a woman?
Well to be fair. I am not sure any self-respecting man would want his woman on the OT chatting up with rando horndogs all day long.
This may be one of them Dr Phil moments where you realize it's you too. Not just him.

I try to be, but sometimes she just gets headstrong and does what she wants to do. And what can I do about it......I mean, I can't hit her......that would be bad, right?

In all seriousness, I can probably be a little overbearing when it comes to making decisions. Not controlling in what she does. But if we are buying a vehicle or something, I think I come on a little strong that my opinion is the right one and it causes my wife to kind of let me do what I want. I've tried to tone that back.

I know of a family that I grew up around where they ate dinner at the table every night. No one was allowed to eat until the dad sat at the table. Like if he was running late from work, everyone had to wait. I think it was a little bit of being polite and ensuring that the family ate together. But at the same time I thought it was a tad controlling.

The wife can be talking with a group of people, laughing, etc and the second he comes around she will stop talking and put her head down.

she's guilty of something. that one episode of black mirror told me so.

My FIL is super quiet. MIL is loud and blabs all the time. He does nothing she says and she tells him what to do all the time. Perfect marriage!

My favorite example of this is when girls forbid their boyfriends from going to strip clubs. I had one friend who wasn't allowed to visit hooters or twin peaks

It depends on how often you go to the strip club. Are you talking about the girl getting mad because you go every week or because you are going on a friend's bachelor party?

my FIL started wearing a hearing aid a few years ago and acts like he cant ever hear anyone talking......except I know damn good and well he's not losing his hearing.

my MIL is certifiably cray and has the papers and meds to prove it....I feel sorry for my FIL sometimes but I get pissed when he constantly brings her over to my house to pawn her off on me and my wife and kids.

I'll admit it. My wife doesn't allow me to go to lunches with other posters If there is females their.

I also report to her at the end of the day how I spent my time for the whole day.

It keeps me on track and out of trouble.

Doesn't your wife wear a strap on around the house?
