I have on a short sleeve shirt today. I'm not trying to prove anything. I enter my vehicle in the garage where it isn't very cold and then I'm cold for like 15 seconds walking from my vehicle to inside the building where I work. It just isn't worth dealing with a jacket for me. Just one other thing I have to keep up with. Plus anytime it is cold they will have the heater cranked up to full blast and it will be incredibly hot inside of the building.

i used to do it all the time, but i also used to weigh 275, so i had the extra blubber to keep myself warm, like a walrus if you may.
but i dropped almost 100 lbs and now just laying in bed im freezing my arse off, the few times it has happened recently was by pure mistake, woke up not thinking it was cold and didnt check then had to run out the door didnt have time to change.
now that im not as fat, frick the cold

I just looked at the Lafayette forecast. It's going to get into the high 50s and sunny? Do you really need to layer up for that?

layer up? no, not wear shorts and a t shirt? yes.

I can't justify an entire wardrobe based on the walk from my house to my car and then from my car to my office.

If your body is used to the cold, you can tolerate some chill, just like some can easily tolerate Zona heat, or Gulf humidity. I remember in January in MN if it hit 35 we would wear shorts and t-shirts. The same reason I wore a sweater in ramadi at night when the temperature dropped forty degrees to 70.
It ain't that crazy a concept.

No way you aren't cold. It's like 35°

Prove? Nothing I suppose. I wear short sleeve shirts with my jacket. That way I can stay warm when outside but also can be comfortable when inside the office.

Even more dumbass than the short sleeve/short pants in cold weather is the dude in long sleeves, long pants, heavy coat, but wearing sandals with no socks. What. The. frick?
How do you get dressed in all those layers but still think bare feet is a good idea?

I used to think that too but I've meet enough people who genuinely just like it cold. Me? frick that shite, I hate it!

I'll wear shorts in high 40's bc I'm comfortable in that weather.

Cold weather really doesn't bother me. I put my garbage out this AM in shorts. I am not going to take the dog for a walk like that, but a quick trip from the garage to the street is nothing.
Same situation here. I remote start my truck from inside the house. By the time I walk in to my garage, the truck is on it way to being nice and warm. I never walk outside. I park about 30'-40' from the entrance to my office. My office is always warm b/c the woman here keep the thermostat above 70 and each have space heaters at there desk. A long sleeve shirt in my office is actually too warm. I am not putting on long sleeves for 15 seconds it takes to walk from my truck to by building. I keep a jacket in my truck in the event that I need it, but I rarely wear it.

How cold we talking? I agree with people that say if you're only outside for <5 mins its sometimes worth it to sacrifice being cold so you aren't sweating when you're inside all day.

I wear shorts until it gets below 30. Don't care for pants that much and my lower body is not cold at those temps. Generally put on a sweat shirt or shell for upper body when it hits the 40s. Not trying to prove anything to anyone. Just doing what I like and is comfortable.

I hope all of you short pant wearing people have fire drills at you offices today. Long ones.
Posted on 1/22/14 at 10:42 am to djangochained
It's not that bad. I have a long sleeve on with some shorts.

Sometimes I'll do it if I know it's gonna end up being in the 70s later. Because I hate carrying extra clothes around all day
