People who are happily employed, how'd you get your job?

Did you get the job all by yourself or did you have help?
Did a buddy/family friend get you a job, or did you just randomly get selected by submitting a resume to something online?
ETA:
If you like you job, how did you get it. Anyone can take one of those sales jobs that's commission only or door to door sales. They hire 100 people knowing 99 are going to quit.
I'm talking "great job"...how did you get it?

Started it from scratch. Couldn't be happier.

Got it myself and quite proud of it. I weaseled my way into a small niche market through a random internship interview from LSU careers. Kicked arse and got on full time after graduation.

Parents paid for me to go to a nice high school.
Worked hard and earned TOPS.
Went to college for free.
Worked hard and had a good GPA.
Employer found me.
So basically my job was handed to me on a silver platter.

Working my arse off. Something that most people in this country don't understand.
I probably have to check my privilege now..

Spent 2 years at a local university, dropped out. Went to Votech got 2 year degree. Started with chemical company then jumped to refining once i had the chance. I applied/tested to both jobs and nailed each on first shot. Oh, and white privilege..

My boss from a previous place of employment wanted to get me on board so he gave me a call. This summer will be my 25th anniversary with the company.
