Exercise and eat/drink well.
If that don’t work, mindful and breathing exercises.

I got prescribed Trazadone for my sleep issues
Trazodone is great minus the grogginess. Also gives me a serious case of the munchies right before bed, which is annoying as hell.

This routine below has changed my sleep quality DRAMATICALLY.
Night time supplements:
Ashwaghanda (sp?)
5-HTP (give myself breaks though a couple nights a week)
Magnesium
Zinc
- Go over in my head what I need to do the next day and have a high-level plan of what order I will go through it all, just plan it out. I'd do this after dinner and it would ease my general anxiety. I wake up with much less. Write it down if that helps.
- If you really need rest, don't drink. There is no debate here, alcohol is not good for restful sleep, in any quantity.
- Exercise fairly hard. If you can't, take a 30 minute brisk walk.
- No caffeine past lunch
- No screens 30 minutes before bed
- Limit water a couple hours before you go to sleep so you don't wake up to pee and have to force yourself to fall back asleep

quote:Yes, 5-6 times a week vigorously. When I say drink, I'm talking 1-2 drinks. But regardless, I don't drink Sun - Thurs because I know overall it's not good for me.
Do you exercise?
I'm just old (62). Comes w the territory.

I'm not annoyed by them. It's more that I envy them since I never get a full nights sleep. I'm up at least 2 times a night to pee, usually don't get to sleep before midnight and am usually up before the sun rises.

Man, I wake up just about every night around 1AM and have to pee. If I don’t actively try to limit my thoughts for that minute and half, I’ll be up for 2 hours.
This is why I have a Bluetooth sleep mask. I can’t lay in a quiet room alone with my thoughts. So I’ll put it on and listen to a history book. I’m out within 5 minutes.

Damn!
For you all that have the CPAP, how long did it take you to get used to sleeping with it?
