the house was flipped by Chip and Joanna Gaines and later became an Airbnb, which she stayed at during a work trip. “HGTV bragged about these beautiful marble countertops,”displaying photos of the waterfall bar and counters, “when, in fact, it was just plywood and contact paper over it.”

The lady that said that about chip and Joanna is full of shite. She never actually provided photos or any proof of that, it’s for clout which is typical for a TikTok influencer

I know there’s zero percent chance this is true but damn it’d be funny if they did this

On one episode I saw Chip had the balls to quote a $10k price tag for digging/installing a drain for a new bathroom in a home they were working on. Ten thousand dollars.

I lost any amount of respect I could have had for them after that.

The downvotes....
Yet if some jackass contractor from Bogalusa did that everyone on this board would be telling the OP asking about it to run.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they cut corners on most things to save budgets on the shows.

However, some TikTokers countered with positive HGTV experiences.

“a close friend of mine actually had a house done by chip and Jo in the last season and they have no complaints,” wrote @sweetflourtx.

“I was on HGTV years ago Save my Bath. Had great experience. All high end fixtures and materials were used,” shared @fabricodeb.

so typical clickbait web article. Some good reviews, some bad reviews. Typical.

I wonder how their Magnolia network is doing compared with when they were more visible on HGTV which is on cable and not a subscription streaming platform.

Their network is on cable. Well, at least it is on AT&T Uverse.

I just had our entire sewer line replaced from the wall outside bathroom to the city sewer line due to roots growing into the pipe. 4k and that was about 150 feet of pipe so yea 10k is insane

It was for literally a bathroom drain line around the corner of a house and tied into the main drain to the septic tank. Ten fricking grand. That was JUST the drain work, not anything else to do with the bathroom project. It would have taken a half hour behind a rented ditch witch and maybe $100 in pipe and fittings. The owners decided to scrap the plans to add another bathroom to the house. Chip seemed perfectly fine with it, though.

I'm sure the fact that Chip and Jo are Christians has nothing to do with this idiot's lies.

This is another attempt by left wing agitators and activists to go after a seemingly "right wing" group of people. The only thing they understand is finding good things and doing their best to corrupt them.

What they really did was put 400k Joanna Gaines white and black board and batten monstrosities into 160k neighborhoods.

So Tik Tok influencers who only exist to generate clicks are saying home improvement shows which only exist to generate viewers are now the trustworthy expert on what constitutes a proper construction remodel.

HGTV is not reality TV. It is as manufactured as the racism problem in USA.
