People dating while they are only separated

I'm starting to see this happen more often. What happened to actually waiting until you were divorced before moving on.

Lol, you don't come back from separated

Typically the people that are seperated were already smashing the person they are now dating

We're probably "dating" before they were separated also.

I got burned by this once, but I kind of knew it might happen. Proceed with caution, my friends, and just realize you may be the side dick for a short time.

He got burned, probably went to the doctor. What details are you looking for?

I was forced to remain separated for a year because our divorce involved children.
I started dating about 3 months after the split. I used that time to get my head right and get back on my feet.
No Damn way I was waiting a year to smash.

so you expect a person to have to wait 12 months before dating? if you have kids it's 12 months from the date you file before you're officially divorced

Nobody waited for the divorce before moving on ever. If separation happens, one half of the equation will be getting strange within 30 days.

I did it. But I am a terrible person.
Divorce took over a year to be finalized and we both knew it was over. Didn't actively go out looking to date but was open to the idea and met some nice people in the process. I did however keep it somewhat quiet until the divorce as official.

The other issue is that there is no "legal separation" in Louisiana (at least there wasn't 15 years ago when I went through it); therefore your spouse can technically sue for adultery and be awarded alimony as a result if it's found out you were banging the new SO before the divorce was final. It's also retroactive, so if it comes out after it's finalized, they could take you back to court.

separated is just a tool women use so you support her fully while she fricks 20 other dudes trying to find someone else to support her arse

They were already dating long before the separation.

It's been happening forever. You just decided to pull your head out and notice.

No, now people are acting like separated doesn't still mean "technically" married.
