40 years ago catching a problem operator pencil whipping logs and laboratory analysis was a doable termination because the data was critical to safe operation of the plant. Still done today????

At first I thought this was about the game we all played in school where you hold your pencil and the other person gets a shot to use their pencil to break yours and you go back and forth until someone's pencil breaks.

I don’t work in a plant…but it will get you fired in a second in my business. The only thing that will get you fired faster is sexual harassment.

No idea what this is. It sounds like a punishment a nun would inflict on you in catholic school.

People still go to work? I’ve been working from home for 18 months.

Yes. Especially if it has an effect on safety or quality.

Depends on who it is. I caught a guy pencilling in readings as his supv. All they did was move him off my shift. He’s now a supervisor…lol

Absolutely not, i’m a console operator at a large oil refinery where rounds and samples are routinely pencil whipped. Now, it’s less often in relation to product specs but things like caustic utilization, pump status, steam conductivity are routinely boiler housed. In my experience, at my place of employment, you have to try to get fired and they have to build a case against you that could last months or even years of issues.
