General Tso's chicken isn't authentic? I watched a documentary about this dish, I think it was created in Ohio or somewhere in the midwest. So, saying General Tso's has been appropriated is like saying Skyline Chili was stolen from the Mexicans.

While they are still retards, the OP spins this the wrong way. They weren't upset they were being served fried chicken- they were upset they weren't. General Tso's is supposed to be fried, but the cafeteria's chicken was steamed and apparently gross. The complaints weren't that ethnic foods like sushi were being served, they were that the ethnic foods being served were half assed renditions that were insults to the ethnic students.
