Saw him at Game 4 of the Pelicans/Blazers series this year. I had no clue he was sick. RIP.

He developed lymphoma I think in his late 20s during the early years of Microsoft, the lymphoma was a big reason he stepped out of the company. He remained in remission most of his life, but I recently read the disease had returned.

Prayers. Being very wealthy doesn’t keep death away forever.

I hope he goes to heaven.

This sucks. I had held him up as someone who'd beaten both Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and then I thought he was going to beat NHL twice. These stories always bring me down a little, having "beaten" Hodgkin's myself. Always looming, but I guess that's all of life.

Unless he was some kind of non meds freak, this goes today show life can be short. He had enough to fix most anything. I have a young daughter and hope I don't leave her early...heart disease runs in my family.

Ive got chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Not really a cure but they can keep it manageable for the most part.
