A father born with a severe facial disfigurement has defended his decision to have a baby daughter with the same rare condition, after neighbours branded him 'cruel'.
Simon Moore suffers Treacher Collins syndrome.
The condition affects just one in 50,000 births and is characterised by craniofacial disfigurements, including the absence of cheekbones.
The 30-year-old is also profoundly deaf and spent much of his childhood hiding indoors to escape bullies who taunted him.
Still to this day, he has to deal with strangers pointing and staring at him in the street.
But despite his own ordeal, he and his wife Vicky, decided to keep their baby girl when scans revealed she too, had the condition.
