Is this a public school problem or do private schools give this test too?

I fact it says the test WILL be given in 2016.

La doesn't have a contract for testing next year, so that is not accurate in our state

The school grades are going to be compared to nationwide schools vs just state schools as they have in the past.

By law the letter grades have to be curved. The comparison WILL NOT be a valid one. Therefore, the test is worthless

The test this year is not pass or fail for students, the teachers will dictate if a student passes or fails. Next year if Louisiana opts into is is supposed to be 100% online.

Is La the only state that curves the letter grade?

Well, I'm sure the whole spying on millions of twitter and facebook accounts by the testing company, and then turning students into the state for investigation/discipline because they are too damn cheap to produce multiple forms of their test, pissed off some folks

but hey, why should I care? I mean its OK for the school to take my 16 year old for an abortion due to her privacy rights, but she better damn sure not post anything about a test question, because she has no privacy expectations on her own FB or twitter account
This is the prime example of the false outrage. Twitter is a social media site that is designed for public communication (or attention grabbing) and keyword searches. Pearson has a lot riding on the integrity of their test. Twitter is a great medium to share information, including test questions and such. So keeping a lookout for certain keywords to ensure the integrity is rational. Some are acting like they are monitoring individual students, when that is unnecessary given the purpose of Twitter. Besides those same people would be criticizing Pearson if widespread cheating was occurring via social media.

Now explain how they got access to kids Facebook posts about the test?

Including those kids who are set to private?

Do you have a link to this. The only article that I've seen said that they identified a tweet then speculated that they were monitoring Twitter and Facebook. I would like to see the evidence of them accessing private Facebook accounts.

The only people freaking out are adults. Kids have been taking assessment tests forever. I took them and I'm 43. Some jackass politicized it and now they think Obama is trying to program their kid. It's a fricking test they're not showing them porn.

well, its impossible for me to link an internal document, so I'll just pose this question.

Kids can now post test items to their friends, and Pearson doesn't 'care'? Just as long as its not on twitter or instagram?

I guess you're 43 and a man. Get over yourself.

Common Core is 100% money and Federal grab taking over education and Obama is not the architect. If you actually knew jackshit on the subject then maybe you could intelligently comment on it. But NOoooo, you don't know jack shite about it, just talking out your arse.

I bet you don't have a kid in school, because if you did, then you wouldn't be so ignorant. (Now falsely proclaim you do and make yourself look like a bigger arse for not knowing what the hell your kids are doing in school)

Well then I think we should be skeptical of any accusations that Pearson is accessing private accounts without any substantive evidence; that I will criticize.

Of course not, and you should know that's not the case. Just because they are adapting to technology doesn't mean they aren't cognizant of other cheating techniques.

Can you link the part about there already being a new curriculum to roll out? I try to stay informed, but I guess I've missed this piece. It's interesting because PARCC (a test) and Common Core (a set of standards) are both not curricula. Is this new curriculum supporting the Common Core standards or a completely different set? Thanks!
