I left my last "dress" watch at a hotel and the maid suspiciously wasn't able to locate it. So now I need to purchase a new one. I don't want to spend a ton of money as I don't wear this watch unless I am dressed nicely. Trying to get the budget around $200.00. What brands should I check out?

Broke because I don't want to spend over $200 on something I don't wear often.

I'm good with being broke if that's the case.

I think he meant the poster "Broke." He's the resident watch expert.

Meh, 200 isn't much to work with. Some good value stuff in the 400-1k range. Would check out the forum post here: LINK
Might be some recent deals that come in that range and if not, just keep an eye on it.

What was the "dress" watch you left? That might help point you in the right direction as well.

Fossil is a shite brand but just recently started manufacturing their own movements since Swatch Group is now keeping ETA movements to themselves. They're slowly working on acquiring some decent brands to couple that with (reinvigorating the Zodiac brand for example which I've been considering as a new casual watch). Citizen/Seiko still quality watches if you don't care about Swiss. I'm not a fan of the Shinola stuff here but many like them.

At the $200 range, I forgot about Tisell... Mostly using Miyota movement (citizen's manufactured movements sold wholesale)... some decent stuff but their Submariner clone is sold out until January I think: LINK

Kors might be one that falls under the Fossil umbrella actually... can't recall. If that's your thing, you're looking at fashion watches largely which is fine. No joke, check out TJ Maxx... often times have some great clearance watches and they restock weekly.
