Paging OT A/C technicians. Cost to move outdoor compressor

Trying to put in an outdoor patio and my A/C compressor sits right in the middle of where I want the patio to be. What is my cost to move the outdoor compressor about 15 feet? Have plenty of yard so property line won't be an issue?

Run unit, close high side valve till freon evacuated to the compressor. Cut line set, braze new line extension, set condensing unit on new lad, braze in the new lines, make sure new filters to on the lines. Pull vacuum for 45 minutes then release the freon that is trapped in the compressor. Might take a pound of freon to top the system off. Should cost no more than $250 to do.

410a or R22 freon? Makes a huge difference In the Cost.

We are waiting to move ours as well. We have to replace the whole system so we are going to move the unit about 10' to put a door in the back and extend the deck. I've gotten quotes all over the map. From $500 to $2k. Many units went under and most AC companies are working like a one legged man in an arse kicking contest right now so be prepared for a little sticker shock. Many want to sell you a unit instead of just doing the labor. They make a mint on the equipment.

You have to redirect copper lines 3-4 hours

Thank you for not calling it an "outside unit."

I'm in New Orleans so hopefully since there is not as much demand I might get a little better price.

Will probably need to move the disconnect as well. That can get tricky depending on where it is. We already ran all the new electrical, drilled the new holes for the copper and made the new pad.

Yes. Forgot about that. Just turned into a $450 job since you have to call in an electrician.

So 250 for the ac part and then 200 for the electrical sound about right?

MJ
Does anybody in the after flood market do anything that cheap????
Not talking about gouging but supply and demand
I would think 250 is 200-250 low
