I'd like a new beater watch and I really like the look of the Orient Ray II with black dial. My problem is I'm having a hard time finding one in stock anywhere at retail price from a legitimate seller. These have been out for a while now I thought. Any ideas on where I can find one? It's a 41mm case I believe. How does it wear? I like smaller watches as I'm not aspiring to be Flavor Flav. I heard the Mako II wears larger.

2nd question: the girlfriend wants a diver. She likes the Seiko 007, but of course it's too big. What options are out there in smaller case sizes, like 40mm and under, that aren't complete crap like Invictus, but don't cost more than $400 or so? :

I have an Orient Black Ray and absolutely love it. It's a gorgeous watch and I get compliments and double takes on it all the time.

I believe it wears similar to the 007?

The SKX013 is basically a mini version of the 007, but they are hard to find. Check on Citizen NY2300, I have one and it wears a lot smaller than the 007.

Just did a quick Google and it looks like maybe these aren't made anymore? Most of the results are for the BNO151.

What's up with watches nowadays? I didn't think it would be so hard to find something I want in stock, new, at a reputable dealer or Amazon. Can't find the Seiko Skx113 either anywhere. Half the inventory on Orient's website is sold out too. Are watches just scarce?

It's a weird market, I think companies hold supply to keep demand up. A few months ago there was a rumor that the 007 was discontinued (maybe it is), and the price shot up. Same thing happened with some micro brands.

I have always heard the 013 and 113's are hard to find.

I have a NY2300 that I like, but i don't wear it a ton, maybe I'll test the market with it.

Just checked and I only saw 4. 2 were sold, 1 was all scratched up and 1 was the first gen that had been modded. I'd prefer brand new from an authorized dealer or Amazon for warranty purposes.

This is a fairly new model right? I suppose they're just creating demand. Kinda pisses me off, but who can blame them
