Overdose deaths exceed murders in NOLA for the first time in history

The powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl was found in 29 percent of the 166 people who died with opioids in their system, Coroner Dr. Jeffrey Rouse said in a news release. The 48 people who died after using fentanyl represents a three-fold increase from the 13 who died after ingesting the drug in 2015.

Dealers are cutting the heroin with fentanyl. Combining these two substances is a recipe for an overdose. They just don't care.

Dealers are getting fentanyl from the same place they get the heroin: large scale narcotic distributors.
The Mexican Cartels and the Eastern European mobs know dealers will cut the dope to maximize profit, so they sell them not only the drug itself but also large amounts of fentanyl to use as a cutting agent.
Everybody wins but the users.
